Army ROTC is an elective program that serves in conjunction
with your existing degree program. You receive college credit
for your ROTC classes and some courses may be used to meet
degree requirements for your college major. ROTC classes
will teach you things like leadership and management, values
& ethics, military skills, effective communication, and
adventure training.
ROTC is, at its essence, an Army officer commissioning program;
however, not all students who take our classes go on to serve
in the Army. We encourage anyone interested in the armed
forces or a career in the Army to enroll in our basic level
courses. These courses do not have any prerequisites
or commitments and are designed to teach basic Army fundamentals.
Only scholarship students or students that advance to our
upper level courses incur any service obligation.
You can also receive your Commission as a Second Lieutenant
(2LT) in the Reserve Component (RC) of the Army. This
includes the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserves.
Basic
Course (MSL I & II) & Advanced Course (MSL III &
IV)
While there are a number of paths that ultimately lead to
commissioning as a second lieutenant in the Army, the regular
progression is through both the Basic Course (Freshman &
Sophomore year), consisting of four semester courses, and
the Advance Course (Junior & Senior year), also consisting
of four semester courses.
Leader's
Training Course (LTC)
Students that have at least two years of college remaining
(Sophomores) have the opportunity to attend the Leader’s
Training Course held at Fort Knox, Kentucky during the summer.
This motivating and challenging 28-day course prepares students
to join the ROTC advanced course and complete their final
two years of ROTC on campus. For more information on

After
Graduation
Being an Officer in the U.S. Army means you’re a leader,
a counselor, a strategist, and a motivator. It's similar
to being a vital manager in a corporation. As an Officer,
you will lead other Soldiers in all situations and adjust
in environments that are always changing. They are driven
to achieve success with their team on every mission.
