Arabella

A Cape Dory 25D sloop built of fiberglass in 1982 by Cape Dory Yachts, Taunton, Massachusetts, to a design by Carl Alberg.  For more information about Cape Dory boats, follow this link: http://www.capedory.org/index.html

Arabella on her mooring in Shaw's Cove, Fairhaven, Mass., 2005.

A crew from Brownell Systems prepares to step the mast, Mattapoisett, Mass., 2003. Like most other Cape Dory boats, the 25D has a traditional, full keel and attached rudder. Auxiliary power is provided by a small, one-cylindar Yanmar diesel engine.

At anchor, Cuttyhunk harbor, 2005. The main cabin sleeps two in comfort, four adults at most. Instead of V-berths, the forward cabin is an enclosed "water closet" (head). Nice.

On the sparkling waters of Buzzards Bay. Tom Darwin at the helm, towing the dinghy, which he and I rebuilt from a salvaged hull.

Brad and Wendy Wakeman take an evening sail, 2005.
