Full time students anticipating travel abroad, especially to developing countries, are urged to make an appointment with the Travel Clinic to discuss their need for immunizations, malaria prophylaxis, specific health concerns, and for the latest travel advisory from the state department.  We recommend an appointment at least three months in advance for optimal preparation.  If you will be leaving sooner than three months, please call and ask to speak to a Travel Nurse.

There is a $40 non-refundable fee which is paid at the time the itinerary forms are submitted and the appointment is made.  Because this service is in great demand, if you miss your appointment, there may not be another consultation slot available, and the fee cannot be returned or credited to your account.

There will be an $80 non-refundable fee which is paid at the time the itinerary forms are submitted and the appointment is made, if the departure date is LESS than 3 weeks from time of appointment.

There is an additional cost for all immunizations and filled prescriptions.  Most of these are readily available at the Student Health Center (Uptown) Pharmacy.

Travel Clinic visits are all made by appointment with the nurses in the Nursing Center and cannot be handled on a Walk-in basis. If you plan to use this service, you will need to bring your itinerary to the Student Health Center (Uptown) so you can complete the preliminary paper work.  It is helpful if you can bring your immunization records as soon as possible.
