Information

This interactive courtroom play explores the different controversial issues involving date rape and challenges your perceptions and attitudes. A female accuses a fellow male student of sexual assault and the program covers the trial that follows. Members of the audience play the various roles of lawyer, witness, plaintiff, defendant, and judge.  After all the evidence is presented the remaining audience members compose the jury and decide the verdict. After the verdict has been rendered, the details of the laws of Louisiana regarding sexual assault are discussed. Throughout the process, students must inspect their own views as well as consider the cause of, and the possible prevention measures for date rape. At least 10 participants are required for this program.
