Study dance in New Orleans at the 12th Annual New Orleans Dance Festival located on the campus of Tulane University.

The 2008 New Orleans Dance Festival features:

• African dances from Ghana and Congo
• Afro-Caribbean dances from Cuba and Haiti
• Contemporary Modern dance traditions blended with African, Hip-Hop

Identified as the Latin influenced Caribbean gateway, the African presence of Congo Square, and the Americanized birthplace of jazz, the multi-cultural diversity of New Orleans offers dance enthusiasts, an inspirational setting to explore Afro-based dance traditions.

Internationally recognized artists/dancers/teachers present a variety of mixed-level classes to individuals age 15 and up.

Classes focus not only on technique and performance but include the study of African and Caribbean dance traditions from a historical, cultural, and religious perspective.
