Student Employment Application Procedures
Position Availability
Academic Technology Support Services (ATSS) accepts applications throughout the year, regardless
of whether we are currently hiring or not. You will be notified by e-mail or by phone if selected for an interview.
The positions that we fill are below:
Position Descriptions
Please feel free to apply for any positions.
Skill Requirements
(Applicants must know the following for Lab and Helpdesk positions):
- Willingness to learn
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Basic Windows desktop and file management
- Basic Macintosh desktop and file management
- Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Equipment
Requirements (Applicants must know the following for Media positions):
- Willingness to learn to use, troubleshoot, and maintain instructional technology equipment
- Deliver audio-visual and presentation equipment to classrooms and other campus facilities

Setup and operate audio-visual and presentation equipment
- Assist in on-going equipment and facility maintenance activities

Participate in media production activities
Application Process
In order to be considered for a position with the ATSS Computing Labs
or On-site, you must first go through the application process. The following
steps must be completed:
- Go to http://www2.tulane.edu/tislab_job/
- Complete the application. All sections of the application must be
filled out.
- Complete the Student Schedule page to the best of your ability.
- On the skills assessment, please evaluate your skills carefully.
Do not rate your skills higher or lower than you feel they actually
are.
- Submit the completed application by pressing the submit button at
the bottom of the form.
- Applicants will be contacted by e-mail or phone for job interviews
as needs arise.
Work Hours
Work hours are arranged to be compatible with each student's class
schedule during the semester and will not exceed 20 hours per week during
the semester. During the summer each student can work up to 40 hours a week.
