HISU 349 The Coming of the Civil War: United States, 1830-1861

Mr. Latner. An examination into the origins and causation of the
Civil War. Emphasis is placed on the political, social, and economic
background of the Civil War, particularly the party system,
abolitionism, slavery, and race relations. The course ends with the
firing on Fort Sumter.
