Our quarterly programs provide Friends the chance to rub minds and elbows with speakers outstanding in their fields.

The Friends of the Library is the major support group for
Howard-Tilton Memorial Library at Tulane University. Each year the Friends sponsor informative and
entertaining programs, exhibits, book sales, coffees and other events in the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library
building and Jones Hall. These events promote the library's mission of
supporting learning through books and manuscripts. Membership
in the Friends has many benefits. In addition to the satisfaction of
knowing you are contributing to learning, knowledge, and the preservation
of our recorded heritage, you receive...
 | invitations to special events, such
as gallery openings, our book sale, and our special Sunday afternoon
programs.

| A free subscription to Watermarks,
the library's newsletter.
|
| A free subscription to the monthly Inside
Tulane. Inside Tulane brings you news about campus events
and happenings. It includes a calendar of campus events such as plays,
concerts, and recitals.
|
| Membership also entitles you to purchase a Howard-Tilton Memorial Library subscriber's card at a
significant discount. This will give you use, check out and research privileges at a
nationally renowned university research library with over two million
volumes.
|
| If you wish, you may allocate a portion of your dues to
one or more of our special library acquisitions funds. This is a wonderful way to remember a loved one.
|
| A membership in the Friends makes a wonderful gift. It will be especially appreciated by out-of-town New Orleanians because it will keep them
abreast of Tulane activities.

| Dues are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. |

Student Coffees
Our student coffees, held twice each year during exam
week, show our concern for students trying to use the library as a refuge for studying
during finals.

Annual Friends Awards
The Friends Awards honor deserving members of the library staff.
Each year, the Friends honor an outstanding librarian, support staff
member, and student worker.

Annual Staff Appreciation Dinner
Each April during National Library Week, the Friends
host a dinner for library staff to show our appreciation for their hard work. It is
here that we present the Friends Awards.

Annual Book Sale
Eagerly anticipated as an excellent source
of often hard-to-find books, the library's annual Fall book sale helps
raise much needed collection development funds for the library. |
