DynaMed (web-based) or (application) - DynaMed is a clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other health care professionals for use primarily at the 'point-of-care'. It contains clinically-organized summaries for nearly 2,000 topics, is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases directly and indirectly by using many journal review services.

Epocrates Rx - Free mobile drug and formulary reference. Contains information on dosing, interactions, adverse reactions, safety, monitoring, pharmacology, and pricing of more than 3,300 brand and generic drugs. Compatible with Palm OS, Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphones, and Blackberry phones.

National Guidelines Clearinghouse - The Complete Summary for each guideline represented in the NGC database can be downloaded and viewed in any Palm OS document reader that recognizes the standard Palm OS document file format. Note: Pocket PC users can directly access the entire site in real time using Pocket IE or as downloaded Web pages. Users may also download all NGC guideline summaries as MS Word downloads.

NCBI Bookshelf - Biomedical books adapted for the web from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Some of the books available in the Bookshelf can be downloaded to a handheld device. For that, you will need to download a free version of the MobiPocket Reader. The software works on Palm Powered devices, Pocket PCs, Symbian phones and PCs. Once you have the software installed, look for the icon on the Bookshelf website. The icon indicates that a version for handheld computers is available for downloading.

PubMed for handhelds - Accessible through a web browser, PubMed for handhelds is a mini version of PubMed that fits on the screen of PDAs.

STATREF! PIER on PDA - **For PALM OS only** PIER© is peer reviewed information designed to be the clinician’s manual for the standard of care. This point-of-care, evidence-based, decision support tool provides authoritative and current guidance for quality patient care. NOTE: This is a trial version. The full version can be purchased through Skyscape or Stat!Ref.

TOXNET - Accessible through a web browser, TOXNET for PDA is a mini version of databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, environmental health, and toxic releases.

UpToDate - Accessible only within the School of Medicine building, UpTodate will reconfigure itself to fit on the handheld’s screen.

WISER - Wireless Information Systems for Emergency Responders (WISER) is a system designed to assist first responders in hazardous material incidents. WISER provides a wide range of information on hazardous substances, including substance identification support, physical characteristics, human health information, and containment and suppression advice. It can be accessed through the web or downloaded to a PDA.
