Students and Residents should consult with their Faculty Advisors prior to relying on any specific source listed here .

Up-to-Date - Available only on-campus. (Licensed by the Tulane Hospital and Clinics and SOM) All topic reviews written by expert authors. The material is reviewed extensively and follows a hierarchy of evidence consistent with most evidence-based resources.

ACP's PIER©: (via Stat!Ref) - Available on and off-campus. Physicians' Information and Education Resource is an evidence-based, point of care tool by the American College of Physicians integrated in STAT!Ref. The online service includes ACP Medicine, ACP Surgery, and other clinical support resources such as drug information, coding resources and infectious disease information.

GIDEON - Available on and off-campus. An interactive Infectious Disease tool that is made up of four modules: diagnosis, epidemiology, therapy and microbiology. It is used for diagnosis and reference in the fields of tropical and infectious diseases, epidemiology, microbiology and antimicrobial chemotherapy. It adheres to the standards of Evidence Based Medicine.

DynaMed - Available on and off-campus. Summarizes clinical topics. Targeted to primary care providers. It is updated daily and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases. One disadvantage of DynaMed is that the summaries written for DynaMed are often not peer reviewed Alper(2003) . Information on the content and editorial policies of this database.
