Ludovico Feoli, Ph.D Tulane 2007

April 17th, 2008

Ludovico Feoli completed his Ph.D. in political science at Tulane in 2007 under the direction of professors Mary Clark, Anthony Pereira and Jeffrey Stacey. His dissertation dealt with the effects of political fragmentation on governance and institutional reform. Shortly thereafter, he co-founded and was appointed Director of the Center for Inter-American Policy and Research (CIPR), a collaborative initiative of Tulane University and CIAPA, a social scientific research institute in San Jose, Costa Rica. CIPR fosters the integration of multiple regional perspectives on Inter-American research through a growing network of scholars and institutions in Latin America, the United States, and Europe. Its current research agenda focuses on issues of human development, Inter-American relations, and the future of Cuba. The Center also seeks to highlight the importance of Inter-American relations for the United States and particularly for the city of New Orleans, through outreach initiatives to leaders of the civic and business communities. Professor Feoli, who is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Tulane, divides his time between New Orleans and Costa Rica. In addition to Inter-American affairs, he is interested, academically, in the fields of comparative politics, political economy, institutions and institutional change.
