In planning the university's response to the Katrina disruption,
there was unanimous agreement that a regular Spring term plus
the Lagniappe term were to be held between January 17th and
June 30th, 2006. This decision resulted in some compromise
regarding the structure of the academic calendar. Therefore,
no study days were placed between the end of classes and the
start of the exam period. In addition, exams are scheduled
for three hour intervals with 30 minutes in between each interval:
8 - 11 a.m.
11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
3 - 6 p.m.
Night exams are scheduled starting at 6:30 p.m.
The university has made an attempt
to schedule exams in only 2 of the 3 daytime periods when
there is also a scheduled
night exam. For the Lagniappe session there is no formal
exam period
scheduled. Faculty are encouraged to evaluate their students
throughout the session and to be able to grade their
performance once classes end on June 30th.

COLLEGE/EVENING CLASSES
University College classes meeting
one evening a week do not follow the University's final exam
schedule. Final examinations for these classes take place one
week after the last class meeting. Refer questions about the
final examination schedule to the course instructor or the Associate
