Elections!
Elections for the Residence Hall Association (RHA) executive board will be taking place within the coming weeks. RHA is the governing body that oversees the individual Residence Hall Governments (RHGs). Officer descriptions are avaliable below and the intent-to-run form is available here. Anyone interested in running should submit an intent-to-run form either online via email to tcullen@tulane.edu or to the Office of Housing and Residential Life by Wednesday, March 5 at 5:00 PM. Candidates may be subject to an interview by the current RHA executive board. Elections will take place at the RHA meeting on Wednesday, March 12 at 9:00 PM in the Stibbs Conference room of the LBC, all candidates are advised to attend.

Positions
President:
The President’s role is to oversee the operations of RHA as a whole and to preside over all RHA Executive Board and General Body meetings. The President serves as the official spokesperson of RHA to the campus community as a whole, but more importantly to the Office of Housing and Residence Life and the Undergraduate Student Government. The President does not have the power to vote at meetings, but can vote in the case of a tie.
Vice President:
The Vice President’s duty is to coordinate all RHA elections, with the exception of the Residence Hall Governments, and to act as a secretary at all meetings. The Vice President is also in charge of maintaining the RHA website (or delegating the responsibility as necessary) and will post the minutes of every meeting as necessary. The VP assumes the role of President in lieu of his absence or vacancy of the position. The VP handles all meeting and facilities reservations. Furthermore, the Vice President is to record attendance at every RHA meeting and maintain a current roster and current copies of the Constitution and Bylaws of RHA.
Treasurer:
The duty of the Treasurer is to maintain the RHA budget and be able to report the current budgetary status as necessary. The Treasurer must supervise all allocations of RHA funds, and distribute and receive all funding proposals. The Treasurer will coordinate all fundraisers and complete and submit annual budget requests to the Undergraduate Student Government.
RHG Liaison:
The RHG Liaison is in charge of setting up and providing support for all Residence Hall governments. The RHG Liaison will run information sessions and elections during new student orientation at every Residence Hall. The RHG Liaison will help each RHG to become functional and provide support throughout the year and will attend at least one RHG meeting per week.
Director of Programming and Community Service (DPCS):
The Director of Programming and Community Service plans at least one large RHA event each semester as well as at least one large community service event. The DPCS works with RHGs on all events they are planning in which they need the help of the DPCS. The DPCS also is in charge of publicity for all RHA sponsored activities.
National Communications Coordinator (NCC):
The National Communications Coordinator coordinates all communication between RHA, the Louisiana Residence Hall Association, the South West Affiliation of College and University Residence Halls, and the National Association of College and University Residence Halls. It is also the job of the NCC to plan all conferences RHA attends and to apply for all awards RHA is eligible for.
Student Resource Liaison:
The Student Resource Liaison serves as a liaison between students and all University services. The Student Resource Liaison shall represent RHA and all on-campus residents at all pertinent committee meetings.
