Angeles Pla Farmer completed her doctoral studies in Peninsular and Latin American Literature in 2003 at Tulane University. Her dissertation studied works of contemporary Catalan-Spanish novelist, Juan Marse, highlighting themes of popular culture and national identity in Spain. She also completed degree programs at Xavier University of Louisiana, New Orleans, and the University of Granada, Spain. She previously served as an Assistant Professor of Spanish at Southern University, New Orleans, in the Department of Foreign Languages.
