Chromatic harmony and modulation, written exercises using expanded harmonic vocabulary. Formal analysis of classic period works. Advanced musicianship laboratory. Second semester.

A survey of the various types of New Orleans music during the 19th and 20th centuries: jazz, ragtime, sentimental piano and vocal music, dance music, ethnic music, and religious music.
