The framework of the Huey P. Long Bridge reflects the rays of the setting sun. The bridge, down river from the uptown campus of Tulane University, carries four lanes of U.S. 90 and a two-track railroad line over the Mississippi River. It opened in 1935, and is slated for a major expansion to begin this year.
