While he was in town to perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, signer-songwriter Paul Simon, left, visited the mobile medical unit that is staffed by Tulane University. Shown with Simon is Bruce Mears, center, staff member who drives the mobile medical unit, and Tracy Conrad, who is clinical assistant professor in both the Section of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, and the Section of General Academic Pediatrics. In the 38-foot-long mobile unit, Tulane pediatricians, faculty and residents examine patients in one of three onboard examination rooms and deliver a variety services including primary care, immunizations and asthma management.
