Tulane Business Forum, scheduled on Friday, Oct. 20, at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside, will focus on "Leadership and Vision."

Now in its 27th year, the forum is sponsored by the Tulane Association of Business Alumni and the A. B. Freeman School of Business.

This year's topics and speakers include: "The Role of Higher Education in the Future of New Orleans," by Tulane University President Scott Cowen; "The Louisiana Recovery Authority — Leading the Rebuilding and Renewal of Southeastern Louisiana," by Sean Reilly, chief operating officer and president, Outdoor Division, Lamar Advertising, based in Baton Rouge, La.; and "Rapid Acceleration and Production," by Richard J. Millman, president, Textron Systems Corp. based in Wilmington, Mass.

"The Port of New Orleans: The Future of America's Gateway to the Global Markets" will be the subject of a panel presentation. The luncheon speaker will be Richard D. Fairbank, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Capital One, based in McLean, Va.

The Louisiana Alumni Clubs of Tulane University are planning a bus trip and tailgating event for the Tulane vs. Louisiana State University football game on Saturday, Sept. 23, to be held in Baton Rouge, La.

Buses will be leaving from the James W. Wilson Jr. Center on the Tulane uptown campus at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 23. Tailgating opens at 5 p.m. that day at the Field House on Skip Bertman Drive and the game time is 7 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.

The Tulane Alumni Association is welcoming two new members to its national board of directors and several new club presidents. The organization has alumni chapters in 30 states, as well as Washington, D.C., and eight international clubs.

The new board members are Mark Johnson of Houston, a 2003 graduate of the Freeman School of Business, and Jini Koh of New York, a 2001 Newcomb graduate. The new co-presidents of the Memphis Club are Kamika Wall, who graduated from Newcomb in 2000, and Lisa Yip, a 2002 business school alumna.

The Orlando club also has new co-presidents, who are Wendy Fogg, a 1993 Newcomb graduate, and Kristopher Kest, who graduated from Tulane College in 1999. The current president of the association is Stanley Cohn of New Orleans, who holds degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences (1978) and Tulane Law School (1981).

Tulane also is welcoming its newest club in Portland, Ore., led by Brandon Zupancic, a 1989 alumnus of the College of Arts and Sciences. Charlotte Travieso, director of alumni affairs and executive director of the association, says, "Alumni are showing interest in starting new clubs in Japan, Little Rock, Ark., Minneapolis, Tucson, Ariz., and Portland, Maine."
