Students of Tulane University,
We hope this letter finds you safe and well wherever you currently may be. We send our most sincere thanks to those schools who have so graciously allowed us to be a part of their institutions. Even as we are spread out across this country and others, students continue to show their Tulane spirit, whether by sporting a Tulane shirt or simply sharing a Tulane memory. For this, we would like to thank you. You have proved that our university is not only a place in New Orleans but a place that we take with us wherever we may go.
Upon our return to New Orleans, we have the unprecedented opportunity to help rebuild a city after the worst natural disaster in U.S. history. We can directly impact so many people and help to shape the new New Orleans; in fact, many have already done so, from members of TEMS to the group of students who established nolahurricanefund.org. Now is the time when our city, a community that has given us so much, needs our support and help. By simply returning to the university, we are demonstrating our confidence in the city and its efforts to rebuild. As local business struggle to revive themselves, they will rely on our patronage. We urge you to maintain the tremendous outpouring of support that Tulane and New Orleans have received.
While the university administration continues its hard work to prepare for our arrival and the start of the spring semester, we look forward to the day when we are once again in New Orleans. With a renewed sense of pride, we will make this semester the best Tulane has ever seen. We encourage you to use next semester to join a new club or attend an event you would have otherwise never gone to and take full advantage of all that Tulane and the Big Easy has to offer. The promise and distinction that Tulane guarantees us is now in our own hands. After all it is not simply the buildings which comprise a school, but its students who truly create it.
