As you resume your Tulane activities, remember that Technology Services is here to assist you. The following list of services and information should help you get started.
Information on using the Tulane e-mail system can be found on-line on Tulane's Webmail page.
If you're having trouble logging into your Tulane e-mail account or into the Blackboard system, send an e-mail to email@example.com with a telephone number where you can be reached. If you need access to any of the administrative systems, such as TAMS, SIS, Datastore or Cyborg, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with a call-back number.
Greenspace is a universitywide tool that allows you to use the Web to upload files, send them to a colleague, and securely download files from somewhere else. You can learn more about this tool on the Tulane Greenspace> instruction page.
Rebuilding Your Technology Tool Kit
Because many people in the Tulane community have lost computers, Technology Services is designing four recommended computer configurations that work well with Tulane needs and uses. We are also arranging special pricing with comptuer vendors. More information about these packages will be posted here shortly. In addition, the Computer Concierge can work with you to help you with any other computing purchases. Contact email@example.com if you have any questions.
The Tulane Software Office will reopen January 2, 2006, but you can contact them now by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Until this location reopens, Technology Services will be unable to loan CDs. However, some software, including the computer security suite, is available from the Tulane software downloads page. Other applications, such as student purchases of Microsoft Office and Windows, are available via download from the e-academy website (note: you will need to use your Tulane e-mail username and password to log in to e-academy). For more information, visit the Tulane software page or e-mail email@example.com.
Finding Someone To Help
The Tulane Help Desk will reopen after Thanksgiving to resume support to the Tulane community. Until then, all questions and requests for support should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Technology Services is particularly dedicated to addressing faculty needs and helping to prepare courses for the upcoming semester. All questions and assistance pertaining to the Blackboard Course Management system, including setting up a Blackboard course, should be directed to the Innovative Learning Center at email@example.com. A full list of services available for faculty can be found on the ILC website.
