Dr. Carroll:  I have been told that you are the faculty representative,
perhaps among others, who will meet with the AAUP representative on campus this
month. If so, I call your attention to this morning's Times Picayune, inside
front page, article regarding the process being followed at UNO regarding
financial exigency, faculty layoffs, and the criteria for eliminating degree

 There is widespread dismay and disappointment among Tulane University's
wider constituency...students/their parents, staff and alumni/ae....that such
consultation, collegial decision making and transparency were not apparent at
our
institution.
