Welcome to the American Anthropological Association's Commission on AIDS Research and Education


This website is provided courtesy of Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine's HIV/AIDS Track. The need for a site was suggested by the Commission on AIDS Research and Education. They felt that the information resources available to anthropologists and other social scientists were scattered in many different sites, and that most of us didn't know where to find them. Also, the Commission felt that a single site which focused on the social and behavioral aspects of prevention and treatment would be especially helpful to students, new researchers and those unfamiliar with either the internet or behavioral science approaches. This site is designed to facilitate the location of information on HIV/AIDS and STD prevention, treatment, research and serve as a place for you to post news items. References and a list of other areas to locate information are also available.
