CONDOM PATROL!!!!!

MARDI GRAS CONDOM PATROL: "Condom Sir?" "Condom, Ma'am?" When members of Tulane's Mardi Gras Condom Patrol offer free condoms to Mardi Gras revelers,the response is certain to be interesting. Students canvass New Olreans French Quarter for four days including Fat Tuesday , distributing condoms and the message of Safer Sex as a project of the Tulane AIDS Awareness Project.

Now in its fourth year, the Condom Patrol anticipates distributing 40,000 condoms with over 200 volunteers. With the rate of HIV transmission among young people, women and heterosexuals reaching ever higher levels, the message of Safer Sex is all the more essential. The student-run organization aims to do more than simply pass out prophylactics, however. The goal of the Condom Patrol is to remind Mardi Gras party-goers that fun and protection can go hand-in-hand.
