Modifiers

 

Irimi-: "Entering." When added to a technique name, this means that the last motion is with a forward body motion.

Tenkan-: "Turning." When added to a technique name, this means that the last motion is with a turning body motion.

-nage: "Throw." Simply means throw on the end of whatever it is added to.

Suwariwaza: Techniques are performed with both uke and nage in seiza, or knee walking.

Hanmi Handachi: Techniques are performed with nage in seiza or knee walking while the nage attacks from standing.
