About
the Atlanta Club
The
Tulane Club of Atlanta is an active group of local alumni who organize
social, educational, and cultural activities for Tulane alumni in
metro Atlanta. The club is a constituent member of the Tulane Alumni
Association (TAA). Founded in 1898, TAA provides a forum for meaningful
involvement and interaction among the university's 105,000 alumni,
its students, and university leaders.
With
more than 3,000 local Tulane alumni, Atlanta has one of the largest
concentrations of alumni in the country. We have one of the largest
email list of all 60 Tulane clubs, and we are among the most active.
In May 2001, the Tulane Alumni Association presented the Young Alumni
Volunteer award to the Club's President in recognition of the successful
programming and support of local events by Atlanta alumni.
In
recent years our events have included annual crawfish boils in Chastain
Park, a Mardi Gras Brunch generously sponsored and hosted by Ruth's
Chris Steakhouse, a Town Hall Breakfast with Tulane President Scott
Cowen at the Buckhead Club in the Atlanta Financial Center, Fat
Tuesday evening receptions with complimentary New Orleans cuisine
from Copeland's restaurant at Tower Place, Braves group seating
and pre-game tailgate parties, Big Screen football and College World
Series viewing parties, team trivia, numerous Community Outreach
projects and happy hours at various spots in metro Atlanta.
The
Tulane Club of Atlanta also participates in TeamIvy, a multi-school
social and networking club with several events every month. For
more information on this group of alumni from prestigious universities,
please check out www.TeamIvy.com.
Activities
of the club are planned and organized by local volunteer alumni
with the assistance of the Tulane Office of Alumni Affairs. Therefore,
your ideas and your help are always welcome. Please contact the
club's leaders on the "Club Leadership" page if you would like to
get involved.
