About
the Austin Club
The
Tulane Club of Austin, TX is an active group of local alumni who enjoy
social, educational, and cultural activities for Tulane alumni in
the central Texas area. The club is a constituent member of the Tulane
Alumni Association (TAA). Founded in 1898, TAA provides a forum for
meaningful involvement and interaction among the university’s 105,000
alumni, its students, and university leaders.
With
more than 800 local Tulane alumni, the Austin area has a terrific
mix of alumni from all of Tulane's schools and from many different
graduating classes. High-tech has brought a number of Engineering
alums either direct to Austin or via relocation from other technology
centers of the country. Austin, as the capital of Texas, is also home
to a number of Law, Business, Public Health, Medicine and Social Work
graduates who contribute to the well-being of our state. Architecture
alums and creative graduates from Liberal Arts, Newcomb, Tulane College,
University College, and the Graduate School all call this, the Live
Music Capital of the World, their artistic home.
Recently,
the Club is being revived with the help of the local President and
many dedicated Austin-area volunteers. Activities of the club are
planned and organized by local alumni with the assistance of the Tulane
Office of Alumni Affairs. If you'd like to find out more about events
or volunteering, we'd be happy to hear from you. Please contact the
President of the Tulane Club of Austin on the “Club Leadership” page
if you would like to get involved, or send an email to the Austin
listserv.
