5th Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction
October 11th from 7:30 - 10:00 PMWe are now selling tickets for our 5th Wine Tasting and Silent Auction. If you have never attended this event in the past, you are missing out on an outstanding night. Not only will be sampling six great wines, we will be raising money for an excellent cause, Tulane University, through our silent auction.
Below are the almost complete details for the event. Please note: discounted tickets are only available for a limited time so do not wait to order! A few additions such as a description of the wines that we will be tasting, our presenter’s bio, and a complete list of auction items will be added as we get a little closer to the event.

Tickets for this year's Wine Tasting and Silent Auction are on sale now and must be purchased before October 6th at 5:00pm. There will be no ticket sales at the door. Tickets can be purchased using the online by clicking HEREReserve a whole table: Once again this year, we will be selling a limited number of special reserved tables for groups of six. Included in this package will be a table reserved in your name in the front of the seating section, six tickets to the wine tasting and $30 auction dollars to be used during the silent auction.
Pricing:
Single Tickets: $27 ($31 after September 19th)
Couples Tickets: $47 ($55 after September 19th)
Reserved Tables $135 ($159 after September 19th)When purchasing couples tickets or reserved tables, our computer program will only allow you to enter one name for your group. Shortly after placing your order, we will send an e-mail asking for the other members of your party so that we have all the names for your group.

This year’s presenter will be Tulane Alumna and EJ Gallo Field Marketing Manager Elizabeth Gruns. Elizabeth has been certified as Special of Wine by the Society of Wine Educators.WINES:
The six wines (three red and three white) for this year's event will be announced at a later date.MENU:
We will be serving a selection of bread, cheese and fruit during the tasting as well as light appetizers after the tasting. There will be a cash bar available.DRESS:
The dress for this year's event will be cocktail attire.
2009 World Championship Barbeque
February 27 & 28, 2009
The Tulane Houston Club has been invited to be a sponsor of the Maverick Kookers World Championship Barbecue Cook-Off tent. This is a very special opportunity and the 100 tent wristbands that we have been allowed to purchase will sell out fast. If you plan to participate, don't wait long!
Time: All Day
Location: A map to the location will be provided closer to the event date.
Cost: Tent wristbands are $35 each and are good for both nights. A second $7 grounds pass is required each night you plan to attendTent wristbands are $35 per person and include admission to the tent, barbecue, beer, jello shots and live music both Friday AND Saturday night. Ideally we would like to have everyone come out as one big group Saturday night (February 28) but each wristband allows you in-and-out privileges for both nights. Please remember that your tent pass will only allow you to enter the tent, you will need to buy a separate $7 groups pass each night you plan to attend.
About the Maverick Kookers: The Maverick Kookers have been participating in the World Championship Barbecue Cook-off almost since the inception of the event 35 years ago. Their highest placing ever was 2005 when they were awarded Brisket Champions and placed 4th overall. They are one of the largest teams and raised thousands of dollars annually for the many Rodeo Houston charities.
This event is currently sold out.
