Grand Marshall Rex 2007 Ronald J. French, M.D. Tulane University is privileged to have the honor of Dr. Ronald French to serve as Grand Marshall for Homecoming 2007.

Dr. Ronald French grew up in Houston, Texas.  After coming to New Orleans to attend Tulane University, he never left, and went on to Medical School after just three years as an undergraduate.  He graduated Tulane Medical School in 1963 and practiced otolaryngology for the past 44 years.  Dr. French is credited with the invention of the Emergency Pocket Airway that has saved countless lives.

Dr. French has served on endless committees, cultural and charitable organizations.  He currently serves at the Director of the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana.

Dr. French married his college sweetheart, Flora Fenner in 1960 and they are the proud parents of 5 sons and grandparents to 8 grandchildren.

Dr. French is the reigning King of Carnival – Rex 2007!
