Recent Ornithological Literature is a subject index to recent
issues of ornithological journals. It was formerly available as a printed
supplement to the Auk, The Emu, and The Ibis. Articles are arranged under
broad topics and subtopics. Indexing for some titles is several years behind,
so each issue of ROL covers a period of several years.
As of 2004, ROL is being replaced by OWL, Ornithological Worldwide
Literature. OWL will continue to make the ROL updates available, while
continuing and expanding this valuable service. For further information and suggestions
for searching the index, try the OWL Homepage.
The index is maintained by the American
Ornithologists' Union, The British Ornithologists' Union, and Bird Australia.
