Miscellaneous:

The building, made of red brick and cypress beams, was originally constructed in 1840. In the 1960's, it was used as Cosimo Matassa's Recording Studio, where over 10,000 songs were recorded. The records displayed at the bar are just a fration of the million once stored here. All the New Orleans and Southern greats - Little Richard, Fats Domino, Dr. John, among others - have walked between these walls. As a tribute to the artists who recorded there, you will see the only Music Walk of Fame in New Orleans as you enter or exit the building. In addition, the music played over the speaker system was previously recorded in the building.
