GBCH 718
"Molecular Biology of Gene Structure and Function"
Tuesday and Thursday
1:00-3:00 p.m.
Room 6301 Medical School
COURSE DIRECTOR:  ARTHUR LUSTIG, Ph.D.

This course will combine didactic training with more problem-based learning (i.e. working through real research problems) and discussions of primary manuscripts.

PBL refers to problem sets designed to teach students how to draw hypotheses from experimental data and design testable models.

There are two major goals of this course:
                 1.    Teach students material and approaches not covered in other course.
                 2.    Teach students how to think about experimental problems and evaluate the  literature.

TEXTBOOK:   Griffiths, J. F., Miller, J. H. and Suzuki, D. T.  An Introductory to Genetic Analysis, 6th Edition, Publisher W. H. Freeman & Co
