WHY VOLUNTEER?

Attending Tulane has always involved community service, but now we have a unique opportunity to build this amazing city from the ground up.  We encourage you to explore this city and understand the communities that you will be serving this year and several years after that.  Ask questions, talk to community members and older students, and engage in active conversation about civic service and the impact it has on New Orleans.

CACTUS strengthens the Tulane community by working together with local organizations.  Additionally, we hope to instill a deeper connection to our community while fostering lifelong commitments to service.  Community service is a unique opportunity to serve New Orleans while also developing bonds with fellow students.   

Many Tulane students have come to New Orleans because they are eager and motivated to particpate in the rebuilding process, and we hope that you are inspired to serve the communities that make up this great city.
