Aut Singhchinsuk
I am from Bangkok, Thailand, and currently a senior studying Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University. My research interests involve the mechanism behind endothelial dysfunction in
atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis attracts more attention because of its association with cardiovascular disease, the number 1 killer in the United States. I investigate the relationship and interactions between platelets and
vascular endothelial cells activated by supernatants collected from macrophages and mast cells treated with oxidized Low-Density Lipoprotein (oxLDL). Platelets are known to recruit additional inflammatory cells to the lesion
sites of the blood vessel via interactions with the surrounding endothelial cells.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing, and listening to music. I also enjoy reading genre fiction, particularly mystery, horror, and science fiction. I occasionally go running. Cardio exercises may help to reduce the risk of
cardiovascular diseases.
