MY COLORADO 14-ER LIST, WITH COMMENTS

All of my climbs are "walk-ups" or at best minor scrambles (Windom, Yale, Sneffels, Blanca, Uncompahgre. That is, class 2 or 2+. No technical parts, little or mostly no exposure. Wimpy, you might say. Many of these climbs done with Bob Morriss.

19. Grays....when? Done it, though.

"20." Misery--OK, "Missouri". summer 2008. Got above 14K, but no summit--careful of the notch in the ridge, 100 yds from summit. I was alone and bailed.

Google Earth image of La Plata Peak

20/21. La Plata, 8/21/10. From Winfield TH. 8h 32m (4:40 up, 3:34 down). Not much fun climbing several hundred feet of boulders at 13,000 ft. My swan song?
