Move-out Recycling and Donation Drive
 
 

Collection of household items, clothes, food and Mardi Gras beads in the residence halls has ended.

For students, staff and faculty moving from off-campus apartments and homes, see below for information about Unity of Greater New Orleans, a local nonprofit that is seeking small furniture and appliances to provide to formerly homeless people. To find locations to donate and recycle other items, please vist the City of New Orleans Recycling Guide.

    DONATIONS NEEDED
    UNITY of Greater New Orleans is a 501(c)3 tax deductible organization helping the 12,000 homeless people in our community. Want to help them AND get a tax donation? Can you donate any of the following?

    DINING ROOM CHAIRS
    SMALL DRESSERS
    BOX FANS
    NIGHT STANDS
    MICROWAVES
    TV’S
    MINI-REFRIGERATORS
    SMALL APPLIANCES
    (TOASTERS, RADIOS, COFFEEMAKERS, CLOCKS)
    HANGERS
    NEW MATTRESSES
    (no used mattresses, please)
    CLEANING SUPPLIES
    (MOPS, BROOMS, LAUNDRY SOAP, ETC.)
    TOILETRIES
    (COMBS, HAIR BRUSHES, SHAMPOO, TOOTHPASTE, BATHING SOAP, SANITARY PRODUCTS)
    DINING ROOM TABLES
    BOOKCASES

    PLEASE NOTE:
    1.) WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT CLOTHING AND USED MATTRESSES AT THIS TIME.
    2.) PLEASE ENSURE THAT ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES ARE IN PROPER WORKING ORDER
    3.) DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED AT OUR WAREHOUSE ON WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, AND FRIDAY
    4.) HOME PICK-UPS CAN BE SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAYS.
