The
Center for Latin American Studies
With over 60 faculty members, Tulane's interdisciplinary
Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) is one of the largest such
centers in the world. Currently, three members of the Economics
Department hold joint appointments with the Center. CLAS provides
research funding, plus a specialized library, and hosts numerous
seminars and conferences.
The
Murphy Institute
T he Murphy Institute supports an interdisciplinary
undergraduate program in Political Economy. The Institute also hosts
seminars, lectures, and conferences which bring together economists,
political scientists, philosophers, sociologists, and historians
to discuss the interrelations between economics and politics.
A.
B. Freeman School of Business
The A. B. Freeman School of Business has 60 full-time
faculty members in five functional areas: accounting and taxation,
finance and economics, management, marketing and organizational
behavior. Economics and business share many common features. Graduate
students in business may enroll in the graduate curriculum in
economics whereas economics graduate students may take courses
in finance or accounting.
