The Tulane University Economics Department invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department, to start in fall 2010. The Economics Department has been in a process of rebuilding since Katrina, making one senior and six junior hires during the last three years. This position is part of our rebuilding efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership as this rebuilding process continues. Candidates for this position should have a record of excellence in research and teaching, past administrative experience, and demonstrated effectiveness as a mentor to students and junior faculty. The position is open to any field in Economics. Appointment is at the rank of Professor in the Department of Economics with tenure.
