Supriya Nair received her MA in English from Baylor University and her Ph.D. in English from the University of Texas at Austin. She is an Associate Professor of English, an affiliate of the African and African Diaspora Studies Program, and currently Director of Women's Studies. Her first book, Caliban's Curse: George Lamming and the Revisioning of History was published by the University of Michigan Press (1996). She is co-editor of Postcolonialisms: An Anthology of Cultural Theory and Criticism(Rutgers University Press, 2005) and has published articles and essays on Caribbean and African literature. Her areas of interest in research and teaching include postcolonial/anglophone literatures and feminist theory. She is currently completing a book on Anglophone Caribbean literatures.
