Overview
The English Graduate Organization (EGO) is a means for the graduate students to maintain solidarity in academic and social matters, and to have a voice within the department. We meet once a month in order to get feedback and keep everyone up-to-date on departmental changes and activities, upcoming social events, forums, speakers, minutes from Executive Committee and Graduate Student Services Association (GSSA) meetings, and related information. EGO also gives graduate students a chance to contribute to the life of the department and the university. In addition, EGO is a way for students to advise and help one another. The graduate program is extremely collaborative and interactive; we organize numerous activities throughout the year aimed at maintaining an open and cooperative environment within the department. The EGO officers consistently strive to maximize our funding in order to plan and schedule more special events, including forums, parties, and speakers. EGO Constitution (link) EGO Officers

- Resources for travel money
- You are allowed up to $500 in travel money from the English Department. In order to obtain these funds, you'll first need to get the form from Barbara Ryan in the English Office. When you return from your trip, attach your flight, registration, hotel, food, and other receipts to the filled-out form, and you can be reimbursed for up to $500.
- You can get up to $300 from Kay Orrill in the Graduate Office, but this is for the flight only. You must write a letter to Kay requesting the funds and explaining the purpose. Make sure to provide the dates as well. Kay will respond shortly with a letter confirming the funding amount. You must have the receipt, itinerary, and boarding pass to get the funding reimbursed.
- You may request up to $250 from GAPSA; you will need to contact the Director of Student Budgets, Jane Rushing, to find out how to obtain these funds.
- GSSA will grant you up to $300 for presenting at a conference and $150 for traveling to (not presenting at) a conference. You will have to attend a budget meeting and GSSA meeting to be granted this money, and you will be reimbursed upon presenting your receipts. This cannot be combined with the money from the Graduate Office.
