Dear students,

It has been and continues to be a great pleasure to introduce the charms of Czech to you. Thank you for this opportunity. Many interesting moments lie in our immediate future.

As a practical matter, please remember that doing the workbook exercises is the best way to actually 'cover' the material in the lessons. Those of you who are writing them all out are doing very well in class. Whether you are Russianists or not has no bearing on this. Please try to do this regularly.

Note that we have no final exam in this special course. Grades will be based on homework, quizzes, recitation, and presentations. A good way to be safe and solid is to do the stuff. Besides, it's good fun and intelligently constructed with relevance to the language. I will for my part try to focus of important grammatical and lexical highlights.
