Objectives:  By the end of course, students will be able to: 

  1. Identify the major issues related to the areas of reproductive health including abortion, safe motherhood, HIV/AIDS, and family planning.

  2. Comprehend the trends, policy issues, and program designs related to each of the major areas of reproductive health.

  3. Describe the source of donor funding for different areas of RH.

  4. Outline the institutional structure, mechanisms for service delivery, and products involved in making services available to clients at the country level.

  5. Discuss types of program design models that have proven successful for delivering reproductive health services.  Also, understand appropriate service delivery approaches for target populations, including adolescents, men, and commercial sex workers. 

  6. Describe the political, cultural and economic obstacles to the delivery of services in different areas of RH.

  7. Discuss key ethical issues in the delivery of RH services.
