| Legislation on IDA |

There is legislation to address iron deficiency in Eritrea. It was passed as part of the Primary Health Care policy in 1998. It states that iron supplementation will be distributed to all pregnant women. Unlike vitamin A supplementation which is done with a national campaign, it is not done at a large population; however, all pregnant women who visit for antenatal care do get the supplementation.
There has been documents published stating the national policy. |
There is national policy on iron supplementation for women, but not for children. It is being considered.
