Most Recent Anemia Survey:  -- There is no national survey. 
  -- World Vision Senegal performed an end of project survey in 2000 (project MICAH I) in 4 districts in which they found a level of hemoglobin <110 mg/l  of 55% in a survey of 278 pregnant women.

     There is a policy to address iron deficiency in Senegal.  It began in the 1990's
     The government has published documents stating the national policy on iron deficiency.
     There is national policy for universal iron supplementation of pregnant women.
     There is no national policy for iron supplementation of children.
     There is no national policy for iron fortification programs.
