Strengths
Presently, the international strengths of the School are based on the Pacific Rim Center (housed in the School), international research and collaboration, and participation in the JYA program. In addition, students gain considerable exposure to other cultures as a result of the fact that almost half of the graduate students of the School are from abroad.
Goals
One of the primary goals of the School of Engineering is to offer each student the opportunity to have an international experience through the expansion of relevant international programs.
Programs
The School of Engineering is presently involved in the promotion of the JYA and short term study abroad programs for engineering students. The school intends to increase promotion of this program in the next year. The activities of the Pacific Rim Center and research collaboration of faculty, also offer international exposure and opportunities to students.
Courses
The School at present does not offer any classes on international matters. Planning of such courses as satellite summer courses is underway.
