Attendance

Since you're online, you're more responsible than ever for your own work and your own attendance. To show that you have attended each lesson, you must turn in the worksheets on time every time. Worksheets are due before midnight Friday every week.

If you like, you can arrange to meet with me in a chat room to discuss your paper, the lessons, or whatever you like. However, if you make an appointment to chat and don't show, that's an absence.

No exceptions are made to these rules. There are legitimate excuses, however, for late work, such as genuine illness, family emergencies, your house blowing up, extremely demanding times at work, things like that.

If your worksheet is late or you miss a chat appointment without a real excuse, this will count as an absence. If you ever have a late worksheet/late report/late project/missed chat session, you must discuss it with me so I know whether it is excused or unexcused.

Unexplained absences are unexcused.

Three unexcused late worksheets or missed chat sessions will lower your course grade by one letter grade. Five unexcused late worksheets or missed chat sessions will result in automatic failure.

Whether the worksheets are late or not, you have to turn them all in (in completed form!) to pass the course.
