Benson on Board

We are pleased to be welcoming William (Matt) Benson to the Sediment Dynamics Group this summer. Matt joins us after receiving his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University where he majored in geology. Matt will be working on his master’s degree, with research focusing on related statistical characteristics of geomorphic surfaces to stratigraphic surfaces. This will be achieved through development of theory tested against data produced in physical laboratory experiments. In addition to his geology skills, Matt brings to our group some needed muscle, developed through years of playing football.
