SciHigh Students visit TSDS lab to discuss the geologicaly dynamic environment they live on

Students in Amy Mallozzi's SciHigh Science class recently visited the TSDS laboratory to observe an ongoing experiment in our Deepwater Basin. The experiment focused on the interactions of marshes and deltaic channels, these types of interactions are important for crafting much of the landscape in Southeastern Louisiana. We had a chance to discuss how scientists perform experiments, what a delta is and what marshes are, how climate and tectonic records are stored in deltaic strata, and what it is like to be a student and/or faculty member at Tulane. All in all we had some great discussions and really enjoyed sharing our science with such eager students.
