A collection of eight Mayan manuscripts, 1557-1813. A chronicle relating to the Maya town of Mani, east of Ticul, Yucatan, Mexico. The Cronica de Mani is believed to contain the oldest known writing in the Maya language with Latin characters. Leaf 1 (not shown) is a 1557 document, relating a meeting of the provincial governor and the Maya chiefs for the purpose of settling questions of boundaries.

These manuscripts are available on microfilm (#674) for use by researchers.
