Zeno spent his entire life
trying to cross a room:
halving and adding,
halving and adding
ad infinitum
the distance to be traveled
to the distance past,
he came only ever closer--

until, after centuries
someone discovered
that the limit
to his limitless spans
was one, and at last
he reached that
farthest shore.

Now, after centuries
again and again I split
the distance between us,
add it to how far I've come
and again the limit is one
of us:
but it isn't I.
