The Garden Library of the
New Orleans Town Gardeners

The Garden Library of the New Orleans Town Gardeners is an extensive collection of published works dealing with gardens, gardening and related subjects. Included are practical works, theoretical treatises, histories, biographies, and reference publications. The Library is not a static collection but a growing one that is added to on a continuing basis; at present it contains well over 1,000 volumes representing approximately 800 titles. Founded in 1983, the Library is an ongoing project of the New Orleans Town Gardeners, a New Orleans garden club affiliated with the Garden Club of America. The purpose of the Library is "to collect and preserve published works, manuscripts, and other items pertaining to gardens and gardening, particularly in New Orleans and the American Southeast; also to promote and facilitate the use of such materials for educational purposes."
